It is seen that the adsorption and elimination of bixin compounds can be easy monitored using this technique to analyze blood serum.It is seen that the norbixin isomers gradually and continually build up in the serum over a period of about 4 hours. The bixin isomers were rapidly adsorbed into the system sand fairly rapidly eliminated. After 4 hours one bixin isomer has been completely eliminated while others have been reduced to mere trace levels. This type of application of gas chromatography is now very common because of the high sensitivity of the technique, the high resolution that is obtainable from the GC column and the rapid nature of the development procedure
