Application Notes
The enantiomers of the analgesic drug butorphanol were separated by reversed phase HPLC using a Chirobiotic T column and detected by UV at 254nm.
Butorphanol, Astec Application Report 270
Butorphanol, CAS No. 42408-82-2, an analgesic drug was separated into its two respective enantiomers by isocratic elution in around 15 minutes by reversed phase HPLC on an Astec Chirobiotic T column (250 x 4.6mm, Part No. 12024) using methanol (100), 0.1% ammonium formate. The enantiomers were detected by UV at 254nm.
In HPLC, ultraviolet (UV) detectors measure absorption of radiation from chromophores in eluted compounds over the range 190-400nm.
Astec (Advanced Separation Technologies) is a leader in the production and sale of chiral chromatography columns for LC and capillary GC.
