Application Notes
The enantiomers of the amino acid arginine were separated by reversed phase HPLC using a Chirobiotic T column and detected by UV at 210nm.
Arginine, Astec Application Report 201
Arginine, CAS No. 74-79-3, an amino acid was separated into its two respective enantiomers by isocratic elution in around 10 minutes by reversed phase HPLC on an Astec Chirobiotic T column (250 x 4.6mm, Part No. 12024) using ethanol, 100mM sodium phosphate, at pH 4.6 (20:80). The enantiomers were detected by UV at 210nm.
In HPLC, ultraviolet (UV) detectors measure absorption of radiation from chromophores in eluted compounds over the range 190-400nm.
Astec (Advanced Separation Technologies) is a leader in the production and sale of chiral chromatography columns for LC and capillary GC.
