Application Notes
The enantiomers of the bronchodilator drug albuterol (salbutamol) were separated by reversed phase HPLC using a Chirobiotic T column and detected by UV at 235nm.
Albuterol, Astec Application Report 235
Albuterol, CAS No. 18559-94-9, a bronchodilator drug was separated into its two respective enantiomers by isocratic elution in around 15 minutes by reversed phase HPLC on an Astec Chirobiotic T column (250 x 4.6mm, Part No. 12024) using acetonitrile, methanol, acetic acid, TEA (70:30:0.5:0.2). The enantiomers were detected by UV at 235nm.
In HPLC, ultraviolet (UV) detectors measure absorption of radiation from chromophores in eluted compounds over the range 190-400nm.
