Application Notes
The enantiomers of the anti-hypertensive drug atenolol were separated by reversed phase HPLC using a Chirobiotic V column and detected by UV at 230nm.
Atenolol, Astec Application Report 103
Atenolol, CAS No. 29122-68-7, an anti-hypertensive drug was separated into its two respective enantiomers by isocratic elution in around 15 minutes by reversed phase HPLC on an Astec Chirobiotic V column (250 x 4.6mm, Part No. 12024) using methanol, acetic acid, TEA (100:0.01:0.01). The enantiomers were detected by UV at 230nm.
In HPLC, ultraviolet (UV) detectors measure absorption of radiation from chromophores in eluted compounds over the range 190-400nm.
Astec (Advanced Separation Technologies) is a leader in the production and sale of chiral chromatography columns for LC and capillary GC.
