Polysaccharides Dextran T-10 and T-40 by HPLC/ELSD

Application Notes

Polysaccharides Dextran T-10 and T-40 by HPLC/ELSD

The polysaccharides Dextran T-10 and T-40 were separated by reversed phase HPLC and detected by evaporative light scattering.

Polysaccharides, Alltech Application Note 0021E, May 2, 2000.

The polysaccharides Dextran T-10 and T-40 were separated isocratically by reversed phase HPLC in around 10 minutes on an Alltech Macrosphere GPC 100, 7µm, 250 x 4.6mm column (Part No. 88133) using water at pH 8.0 and detected by evaporative light scattering using an Alltech 500 ELSD (Evaporative Light Scattering Detector).

In ELSD, the mobile phase is first evaporated. Solid particles remaining from the sample are then carried in the form of a mist into a cell where they are detected by a laser.
