Application Notes
The enantiomers of the pharmaceutical intermediate atrolactic acid were separated by reversed phase HPLC using a Chirobiotic R column and detected by UV at 254nm.
Atrolactic Acid, Astec Application Report 3001
Atrolactic acid, CAS No. 515-30-0, an organic intermediate used in pharmaceutical manufacturing was separated into its two respective enantiomers by isocratic elution in around 25 minutes by reversed phase HPLC on an Astec Chirobiotic R column (250 x 4.6mm, Part No. 13024) using methanol, acetic acid, TEA (100:0.02:0.01). The enantiomers were detected by UV at 254nm.
In HPLC, ultraviolet (UV) detectors measure absorption of radiation from chromophores in eluted compounds over the range 190-400nm.
Astec (Advanced Separation Technologies) is a leader in the production and sale of chiral chromatography columns for LC and capillary GC.
