Application Notes
The enantiomers of a chiral compound used in asymmetric synthesis were separated by reversed phase HPLC using a Cyclobond I 2000 column and detected by UV at 254nm.
(4,5)-diphenyl-2-oxazolidinone, Astec Application Report 4030
(4,5)-diphenyl-2-oxazolidinone, CAS No. 86286-50-2, a chiral compound used in asymmetric synthesis was separated into its two respective enantiomers by isocratic elution in around 10 minutes by reversed phase HPLC on an Astec Cyclobond I 2000 column (250 x 4.6mm, Part No. 20024) using acetonitrile, water (30:70), 0.1%TEAA, pH 4.1. The enantiomers were detected by UV at 254nm.
In HPLC, ultraviolet (UV) detectors measure absorption of radiation from chromophores in eluted compounds over the range 190-400nm.
Astec (Advanced Separation Technologies) is a leader in the production and sale of chiral chromatography columns for LC and capillary GC.
