The Alltech ProSphere family are a line of specialty packings for life science and proteomic applications. They are silica based (100Å and 300Å) or polymer based. The Hydrophobic Interaction columns use a polymer based packing phase to separate proteins, DNA, RNA and PCR products by hydrophobic interactions between hydrophobic groups on a protein and a hydrophobic ligand on the column packing.
Five packing phases are available, P-HIC Ether 10µm, in a length of 75mm and an internal diameter of 7.5mm, P-HIC Ether 13µm, in a length of 150mm and an internal diameter of 21.5mm, both for separating large hydrophobic compounds like monoclonal antibodies; P-HIC Phenyl 10µm, in a length of 75mm and an internal diameter of 7.5mm, and P-HIC Phenyl 13µm,in a length of 150mm and an internal diameter of 21.5mm, for separating medium to large compounds and P-HIC NP-Butyl 2.5µm,in a length of 35mm and an internal diameter of4.6mm, for high-speed, high-resolution applications.
