An appropriate power supply circuit is shown in figure 28. Thesignalistakenacrossthe1 x 108 ohm resistor and asthe standing current from the ionization of the argon is (with the type of sensor geometry described above) is about 2 x 10-8 amp. Consequently, there is a standing voltage of about 2 volts across it that requires 'backing off'.
